Free Nature Sounds

Fountain

I don’t know about you, but there are a few sounds that are very relaxing to me.  Crackling fire, falling rain, waves crashing at the beach… you get the drift.  In fact, partly as decoration and partly as a relaxation aid, my wife purchased a fountain for me which was purposefully “loud.” This sits in our bedroom and is an excellent white-noise generator that’s great for going to sleep or just day dreaming.  (If you’re in the market for a fountain, we highly recommend you head over to Natural Creations — they’ve got an excellent selection that are each hand-hewn from lava)

So… what?

Well, today I was Stumbling across the Internet and came across this site for Free Nature Sounds.  The first thing that came to mind was, “Uh-Oh, I’ve stumbled across one of those “Free Desktop Wallpaper” sites that tries to install spyware on your PC.”  However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was, in fact, NOT trying to install bad things on my computer.  Moreover it is a nature sound generator!  If you don’t want to shell out a few hundred dollars for one of those fountains, then this website is the perfect thing for you.

You can blend in different sounds — for example, right now I’m listening to a mix of 20% Creek, 20% Frogs and 20% Thunder.  It’s very easy to get lost in time while fidgeting with the controls and blending in other sounds (perhaps the website should be renamed “Free Nature Sounds to distract yourself with.”

Then, when you find a combination that you like, it just runs non-stop without any obvious breaks in the pattern and can even be saved to a WAV file so you can import it to your favorite MP3 player (after conversion to MP3, of course, but that’s a fairly easy procedure).

I’m so relaxed… I think I can finally head to bed.

Spread the love

This is a pretty cool site you recommended. I’ve got rain and thunder up to 100% and frogs and forest birds at 20%, and it’s about to relax me to sleep! LOL

    Thanks for this recommendation.
